$3,600 – South Boulder, CO:
“BUY 2 VEHICLES for one price!
Extremely RARE Dolphin X-100 RV Motorhome was the first of the Dolphins, this is the prototype (10 made total) Dolphin X-100 built in CA with all fiberglas as a compact camper/surf-mobile, see the very-cool original vintage ad attached as well as the original patent application. No thick walls to eat up space..much stronger than aluminum over wood studs.. This could be worth a LOT if restored to its original glory! I planned to add 4WD. It gets up to 25 mpg, it’s kinda like a minivan predecessor and very easy to work on. Very cool, this thing turns heads everywhere. I had hoped to restore it but health won’t allow it. This is very tough chassis with fully-boxed frame and qualifies for collector plates only need renewing every 5 years. Have extra parts to complete a full restoration of both, very little needed, mainly a head gasket on the x100, the khaki/chop-top runs great. Both vehicles have been stripped down to the rv components under the floor (water-sewer-elec-gas) ready for new interiors. The chop-top would also make a dandy ozzie-style flat stakebed runabout..It has the legendary 20R Toyota motor, and the chassis is a 75-79 Toyota Hilux with the optional 5-speed manual transmission. The code is Model RN28L-KRA, the motor is 20r – 2.2L. Titled as a 1980 Dolphin from the mfr who added the fiberglas kit. It starts fine and runs but needs a head gasket to bring back power, these are $285 rebuilt plus a gasket kit, all else fine.
AND THERES MORE! I AM INCLUDING a 2ND Toyota “donor” truck which is an identical pickup chassis with low miles in nice condition, and has a/c, and is a good running Hilux which COULD be used to make one great RV/Camper although it is easy to keep both as fully running vehicles since neither one is missing much of anything really. It is also a Dolphin camper but was not so rare, just an aluminum overhead camper which was chopped down, so it is an odd shortened camper which is a perfect match or a donor to make the X-100 perfect. It’s all about the Toyota chassis, and also has RV components including Water Tank, LP Hookup, Waste Tank, etc. I planned to make this one a flatbed, ozzie style with flip-down sides.. There are 2 trucks here!
BOTH come with a clear CO title so you would have 2 trucks complete! Must sell due to health but I would restore the x100 to original – possibly adding 4WD which would is so easy on these older Toyota Hiluxes.”
