$5,000 – San Rafael, CA:
“I have owned this car for a real long time and it is time to let it go.
It started life as a 71′ Triumph Spitfire MK4 . Now it has a smoked over and balanced Buick all aluminum V8 (less than 30 hours), it has an aluminum flywheel and revs like a motorcycle. The Muncie four speed has a hurst competition plus linkage with about a 5” throw. These cars come stock with a dinky 4 cylinder and an even dinkier four speed tranny.
The stock four cylinder engine occasionally blew up the stock trannies and the stock swing axle rear ends. This car now has a 10 bolt Chevy rear end out of a V8 Monza.
This car is street legal and is currently on non opped Status at DMV. There is a huge list of parts and modifications on this car and I have kept a list of all the parts and mods for the new owner.
The body is a work in progress, however the flares are fiberglass over wire with steel tubs underneath. The tranny tunnel is made the same way, a steel cage with wire mesh over that and fiberglass over it all.The roll cage was built by John at Arcata Muffler.
The engine was rebuilt at Wally’s Engine Shop.
The transmission was gone through by Sheiman.
New T/A radials
The radiator was boiled out and reconfigured by Wayne Wilson Radiator.
I’m sure that I have overlooked a ton of things about this car, but hopefully you get that this car was put together using new or rebuilt parts with the end result being a fun fast car. My life changed and the car project was put away for 10 years and has not run in that time. The car comes with a tow bar that mounts on the front bumper mounts easily, so the car can be flat towed. The first apropriate offer over $5K gets the car. “
