$1,950 – San Marcos, TX:

“1986 Toyota Cressida Luxury Wagon
5M-GE Engine (same as the Toyota Supra)
Rear Wheel Drive
Automatic Transmission
129,XXX miles
Cold A/C and working heater
No body or interior modifications – just classic Toyota.

This car is very rare and in good shape for a 32-year old Toyota. The engine runs well and it’s good to drive, but it needs a little TLC to get back to its 1980s luxurious glory. I love this car, but unfortunately, I no longer have the time or space for it. Please read this ad carefully and contact me with any questions. I’m selling this car in “as is” condition for cash only at a fair price.

Issues/Needs:

1. Steering Rack: The steering rack bushings need to be replaced. It’s out of alignment and has a slight vibration due to this issue. One of the tires will need to be replaced soon due to uneven wear. The tires for this car are about $50-60 new.

2. Transmission controls: 1) Occasionally the transmission does not automatically downshift when climbing a hill or hitting the accelerator to speed up quickly. This happens randomly, and it shifts just fine when I do it manually, so I don’t believe it is an internal transmission issue. The OBD I is giving codes 42 and 61, both for Vehicle Speed Sensor. Replacing this part may correct this issue. 2) It also occasionally has trouble shifting into reverse after sitting for awhile. It doesn’t seem to matter whether the transmission is hot, cold, or lukewarm – it’s just random. Usually, it will go into reverse right away, but occasionally it doesn’t cooperate. I’ve driven it like this for a few years, just back into parking spots if I am going to stay awhile. 3) There is a small transmission fluid leak. Not sure where it’s leaking and I haven’t had time to investigate.

Parts replaced in last 4 years:

1. A/C compressor/dryer/fan
2. Fuel filter
3. Alternator
4. Starter
5. Battery
6. Master cylinder

The Price:

NADA average retail for this vehicle is $3,225. Due to the issues explained above, I am only asking $1,950 for this rare classic. Email through CL with any questions.
