$7,000 – Fredericktown, MO:

“Up for sale is my late body style 944 with a low mile ls swap. The swap has about 6k miles on it. Car runs great, gets great fuel mileage, and is a big head turner. No one expects a Porsche to have a lumpy V8 under the hood. Car has no check engine lights, a clean title, and has been a very reliable ride. After 6k miles the engine exterior is bone dry, no leaks of any kind. This car has manual steering and manual brakes. Being a 2800lb car it is still very easy to turn and stop. If you wanted to use it as a track car you would want to convert it to hydroboost brakes (there are write-ups online regarding how to do so). I built this car as a fun street car and that is what it is. Listed below are modifications:

Engine:
2002 5.3 engine
228r 110lsa tsp cam
Hardened tsp pushrods
Ls7 lifters
Comp valve springs
Decked heads
Ls2 timing chain
Melling m295 oil pump
LS6 intake and injectors
MSD Wires
Corvette style returnless fuel rail with wix 33737 filter
Walbro GSL392 fuel pump (common ls swap fuel pump)
Headman headers (driver’s side is custom to avoid steering shaft)
Borla 2.5” exhaust

Car modifications:
AOR code transaxle (this is the best axle available for 944s. it is a 3 year axle for turbo cars that is limited slip and has reinforced inner plates and molybdenum coated differential shafts. 1st and 2nd gears on output shaft are blasted for extra strength. It is the ideal axle for ls swaps in these cars and is very hard to find and is very expensive). This one shifts smooth and quick.
All aluminum radiator
Auto meter oil pressure and water temp gauges (with a functioning CEL)
Nt555r drag radials with 6k miles
Fuch staggered wheels (very light, very desirable forged wheels. these are real fuchs)
Wide body kit installed by previous owner. Gives the car a much more aggressive stance (and room for the drag radials)
Braided brake lines

Quirks:
Car has no front turn signals. Previous owner installed a custom bumper that doesn’t have turn signals. Some could be fitted, I just haven’t bothered.
Key does not match door locks. I have 2 extra exterior door handles that go with it, any keysmith can match up the cylinders with the ignition key.
Odometer doesn’t work. It is a small plastic gear behind the dash that is binding up. A notorious issue on these cars is these gears stripping (the old one had done so). I replaced it and the odo worked fine for a couple hundred miles and then stopped. I believe there was flashing on the gear that has bound up.

I’m asking 7k for the car as it is. The paint isn’t perfect, nor is the interior, but it’s not a show car. It is a 30 year old street car that is a blast to drive. It has no dents and no rust. There are a lot of extra parts I can throw in with the car. You’ll have a hard time finding a car in this price range that is this much of a unique head turner and this fun to drive. I’m not looking for trades, I recently went back to school and need the money for bills. Thank you for your time.

Walkaround of the car

Cold start after sitting 2 weeks

A couple free revs (car was up to temp before revving)
