“This is a great start to a great car. I wish I could keep it, but thats life.
The car is a 78 280Z. Original auto car from Missouri. very minimal rust. floors and rails are in amazing shape. The passenger side front fender has some previous body work that I found. Could be fixed. The tires are very old, and need replacing. Also the drivers side exterior door handel needs to be replaced.
What the car needs to be 100% is an exhaust fabricated, and suspension bushings to be replaced. The car does run and drive, but does need to be retuned.
Engine: s1 rb25det, Has a freddy intake manifold, Radium top feed fuel rail and regulator. Has a turbonetics 50trim t3 turbo thats internally gated.
The trans is a stock RB20 unit with no grinds or popouts. I do have a RB26 bell housing that I planned to use for a z32 hybrid trans. Driveshaft is the stock Datsun auto shaft. stage 2 clutch and liteweight flywheel. Brand new clutch master and slave and hardline.
Fuel system: Radium auto rail and regulator, aeromotive a1000 pump, currently has 440cc injectors. I also have 850cc that is included. Using the factory fuel tank.
ECU: its a Ecu Master EMU classic. I used a r32 rb20 engine harness, and a plug and play adapter. Ive added lots of extras, flex fuel sensor, oil psi, fuel psi, IAT, I also have a oil temp sensor that I can include. Bosch 4.2 wideband sensor. Has a mac valve for boost control. I also have a bluetooth module, so you can monitor everything via a tablet or phone. The ecu handles the cooling fan, fuel pump, vtc solenoid.
Intercooler is a brand new CX racing, with 3″ outlets.
Brakes: I replaced everything. New calipers, pads, rotors, drums, shoes, cylinders, rubber hoses, master, and booster.
Cooling: using the factory 280z radiator with a Spal 12” E-fan that is controlled by the ecu.
The car is 100% wired up, Ive painted the engine bay. The interior is very clean. Dash has a half cap. The factory tach does not work, but the speedo, fuel level, voltage all do.
Iv only driven the car up and down the block. So it would need to be trailered. The car is setup for E85, but is not tuned for it.
