For as many complaints Americans make about Italian reliability there are just as many compliments on their perfect styling. What many here in the states don’t understand is that Lancia went over and above when assembling their cars with the finest materials. This perfectly proportioned Lancia Fulvia 2c Berlina is a marvel of build quality and engineering.
This example was produced in 1965 and still retains its original engine. This very original sedan or “Berlina” in Italian was sympathetically restored in 2013/2014 after living a clean and simple life in Western Lombardy, Northern Italy.
Treated to a full professional repaint including the engine bay this car presents extremely well in its original gray color. As expected this vehicle was found to be in excellent structural condition, including the original floors and sills. The trunk floor appears to be original and in excellent condition as well.
Presented with an ACI gold plaque and Certificate of Authenticity this is a very original and collectable Italian classic.
Being produced in 1965 this Fulvia is the first and more desirable of 2 series. This series 1 example has the early wheels with large hubcaps, Fulvia coupe tail lights, a shorter wheel base, and a slimmer roof design in the rear. This Fulvia is powered by a narrow-angle V4 engine with twin solex carburetors. It is a front wheel drive car with a 4 speed on the steering column. It drives as well as it looks. It shifts extremely well and soars down the road without any drama, rattles, or squeaks.
Recently the engine was fully inspected and serviced and the carburetors were overhauled. The seats were re-trimmed in their original beige along with the door cards. Those are currently covered in a protective clear plastic. The floor mat sets and trunk liner were left untouched as they were in clean and original condition. The dash was professionally removed and cleaned. All of the lights were refurbished and the aluminium surrounds were machine polished. The rubber items and window surrounds were replaced as required. The disc brake system was overhauled and a new exhaust has been fitted.
This lovely little car we nicknamed, “The Godfather” is ready to be enjoyed.
