For sale is this great example of a 1972 Pontiac LeMans sedan in its unrestored original condition. The car was bought in Hondo, TX by a farming family from just few miles away in Lytle. I have the original, hand written receipt from 1972, along with the original owner’s manual and a couple of other factory booklets. It was last registered in 1992. I was told the owners were elderly and placed in a nursing home. And this car sat in the family barn, untouched. When they passed, their kids inherited the farm and decided to sell the property. They called their friend who’s in the car crushing business to get rid of all the cars on the property. He knew this one was too nice and saved it. Original title and Texas title transfer application were signed by the original owner before he passed and both documents left undated, ready for the new owner.
This car has the 350 2bbl engine mated to the TH350 3spd automatic transmission. I have brought the car back to life and it runs and drives fantastic. The transmission shifts flawlessly but it does have a leak. I haven’t tried finding it yet. Brakes stop the car good and safe. Tires have been replaced and ready to pass inspection. Car is absolutely complete, down to the original jack and spare tire in the trunk. Even the “fasten seat belt” light comes on and dings when unbuckled and in gear. All of the exterior lights work along with the dash lights. All of the gauges work too. Ready to be fully restored or a weekend cruiser or a daily driver as-is. I have found that the gauge lights and dome light are not working, A/C compressor is there and is not locked up but the a/c thermal limiter (relay) burns up, and the heat does not get very hot, and there is a tear in the reupholstered front seat that was taped by the original owner.
