$24,000 – Antioch, CA:
“Up for sale is a 2017 Exomotive Exocet with a 2015 LFX Engine Swap. I’ve invested over $35k into this, and unfortunately, due to a busy schedule with work and life, do not have time to finish it and enjoy the finished product.
This is an exoskeleton kit car originally based on the Mazda Miata, with few original parts left on this example. This kit car is 90% complete, but still needs some tidying up done. It is already most of the way through the SB100 process, and once complete it will be road legal and smog exempt. Until that point, however, the car is not yet road legal, except with the use of temporary moving permits. All that needs to be done to get it road legal is complete a Brake and Lamp Inspection, as well as a BAR inspection as a 1960 Body Style Vehicle.
The finished car will weight somewhere just north of 1600lbs and makes 323hp. With an updated tune using the FlexFuel Sensor on E85, it will make upwards of 360hp. Even with the base tune, this car will go from 0-60 in under 4 seconds, if you can tame your right foot enough. 20-60 has been measured at just over 1 second at the ideal rev range. You won’t find anything faster or more exhilarating for this price.
There’s far too much to list, but here are some of the relevent details:
– Exocet Sport Chassis #151 w/ double diagonals
– 2015 Camaro LFX Engine w/ ~750 miles and MV5 Transmission
– V8 Roadsters Tubular Subframe
– 949 Racing Beryllium Exocet 6ULs w/ 245/40r15 Hankook Ventus RS4 Tires
– APR Wing
– Gas Tank Modified w/ Hydramat System
– Custom Exhaust w/ Electronic Cutout
– Aluminum Fluidyne Radiator with Custom mounts
– Tein Street Flex Coilovers
– Corbeau FX1 Pro SeatThe Bodywork could go for a paint, as it got some scrapes in transit, and the interior sheet metal also got its fair share of wear during assembly as I was always planning on covering it.
There’s much more, and if you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to inquire. This is very much still a project, but with all the nasty bits done. All that needs to be done to really complete it (aside from the B&L/BAR inspections) is the following:
– Tidy up the wiring
– Replace the Seat Mounting
– Mount Side Panels
– Mount Fenders (Optional)
– Get Tune
– EnjoyI also have copious spare Miata bits and goodies for the Exocet (Exhaust heat shield, RX8 Gauge cluster w/ CAN-BUS Arduino translator, all sorts of different headlight options) that I’ll throw in as well.
If there’s any interest, let me know.
