$3,000 – Boise Branch, ID:
“73 Chevelle project. rear “truck arm” NASCAR style suspension (http://hotrodstohell.net/index.htm) that was on its way to becoming a Bobby/Donnie Allison, Dale Earnhardt replica of sorts. Art Carr TH400, 454 oval port with Racer Brown cam, Mitsubishi mini high torque starter ,rear is 8.5 w/bolt in axles (corporate rear end) have posi unit and 4.75 gears separate. 1 1/2″ Trans Am sway bar. Has open diff freeway gears right now, fuel cell, 3 1/2″ exhaust, Holley 830 annular booster carb. Comes with: BW cast iron fine spline Super T-10 4 speed, Winston Cup pedal assembly and/or factory pedals.
There is a lot more to say about this car. It has sat for a long long time but I have gotten it running good. Engine seems fine and makes a lot of power, mostly torque. Cam has tight lobe center for solid power from 1500-3800 rpm. and is very streetable. But loud! Front end has been lowered and set up for cornering and is in a somewhat radical setting. Replaced steering box and rebuilt front with poly graphite bushings. Body was lowered with 1/2″ aluminum body mounts. Art Carr TH-400 transmission from the 80’s when it was under original ownership. Trans is worn out but doesn’t slip. Just leaks and shifts slow. Don’t even ask about interior or creature comforts because it might be too far in the direction of totally custom race or race style touring car. Does have factory dash but with aluminum sheet with aftermarket gauges. It’s rough but not much rust and no bondo that I know of. There is rust around the back window from leakage.
The truck arm rear is really fun and is the same type system that is used in NASCAR today. See the hotrodstohell.net website for more info and If you installed a proper tubular front end it would be most of the way to a genuine vintage 73 super speedway replica. Of course you would want a floating axle 9″ rear, circle track gizmos etc. This is a crude, fast, streetable, fun as hell car that I built for down and dirty street racing when I lived in LA ten years back. It was signed by Billy Gibbons but I don’t think the sharpie is visible anymore. If you are able to build custom cars this could easily be made into a serious high speed road race beast. May do partial trade (half) for KTM or Husaberg dirt bike.SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. Make reasonable offer.
