$3,100 – Cambridge, MA:

“Never meant to sell this car, but life contingency requires that I get rid of it immediately. Clean title in hand, please read the ad in its entirety. Clean title in hand, looking to sell ASAP, priced accordingly. PLEASE leave your phone number, when you can see it and any additional questions in your response email. I will either call or text a response.

Under any other circumstances, I’d have a hard time getting rid of it for twice the amount I’m asking, considering the sheer amount of time and love I’ve given it. Please call for more questions/answers, just giving what I can remember here.

$3,700 with the $2,000 wheel/ tire setup.

The time I’ve spent caring for this and learning about it goes far in excess of the cost of the car. These cars are incredibly confusing, maddening, and difficult to tend to until you figure them out. I put in the time, and got back a car that is very reliable, gets over 27-28 MPG consistently with highway driving, I purchased the car with 210K miles and spent the last 5k miles giving the car a mini-restoration since I don’t need to commute for work. Bought it from a guy who had 3 previous 5 series generations sitting in his backyard and had an 80 mile commute back and forth to work. I learned the secret that it’s not the mileage, but the prior caretaker of the vehicle that matters. Compression tests confirmed this, and I whisked it away and fixed everything that could go wrong, or that does go wrong on the E60 generation. This is a very lengthy post because I do not have the time to waste with ‘maybe’s’. Please do your research, read this post thoroughly and ask any questions that persist. This was my running project that I had to pick up because it hits the ‘sweet spot’ for BMW’s.
Aluminum front end (this car only weighs 50 pounds more than its 3 series counterpart! not kidding, look it up, the incredibly reliable and powerful N52 engine (200 lbs torque at 2k rpm!, and a 6 speed manual transmission without the problems of an automatic).

Parts included:
Brand new rotors/pads
OEM same color Shwartz black door panel (fixes 70% of the body damage on vehicle)
OEM Touch up paint
OEM Auxiliary sound input
OEM 17 BMW 5 spoke sport wheels / tires

If I get near full price for this car (including wheels/tires), you get a host of additional parts, if you want:
full set of gray door cards
additional trunk
Rubber door lining, full interior trim set (was going to do custom trim and swap out)

So there you have it. I still consider the car a running project because I’m a nit-picky, meticulous person, but as I said, you could literally pick this up and drive cross country (I’d do the sway bar end link first, though, but even without, statement stands true). Too embarrassed to say how much time I’ve burned just learning and immersing myself in this car (not listed above are the MANY hours I spent redoing headlights/ side markers, fog lights, cleaning the little crevice between panels or polishing the muffler) but whoever picks this up is a lucky person. Because, again, I had zero intention of selling this car and was going all out to prepare a daily driver for at least the next 5 years. It’s a car I’m confident to say will please its new owner for even the next decade with reasonable care.
