“1999 NASCAR Monte Carlo Road Race Conversion.
Daytona car, front suspension and brakes converted to a road race setup and setup for open Road Racing like the BBORR, SSCC, and NORC.
360 CI small block chevy that has not been dynoed, but should make 525 HP given the origin of the parts and the mild setup (timing).
T-56 Transmission, 3.89 gear in the 9” rear end, Aluminum driveshaft, CV products fuel pump (electric failed me once), Canton Road Race oil pan (old pan developed a leak at a spot weld, this one has no spot welds), and much more.
Driveshaft and gearing are setup for 172-174 mph at 6500 rpm (a little less I believe). The driveshaft in this configuration is set to be at critical speed at 180 mph. Car has seen 166 mph (BBORR Tech speed is 168) with no issues. Motor runs 170 degrees of water temp and oil was around 270 so an additional cooler of the same size and brand has been added to lower that number as well.
Being a Daytona car it is not a high downforce car. Idea for ORR in my opinion. the faster you go the better it drives. at 110 it is not yet planted, by 130 it is very nice.
With a gear change to 3.50 ( have those available) I believe this motor can push the car to 180.
Comes with 2 sets of slick and the 17×9 rims and tires I usually run and for which the mph specs were given.
