Up to date texas inspectionThis is a rare/unique opportunity to own a 2002 VW Eurovan MV with a 2.5 TDI with 5 speed transmission!
The van was professionally converted in Oregon who had done several prior TDI swaps. The van was originally from California and the engine and transmission is a 2.5 TDI engine code AVC from Germany. All the parts for this swap were imported by quality German Auto Parts in CA and van comes with extensive records and the conversion is well documented on the TDI club forum http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=428690
Prior to the conversion van had around 140K miles on it. The gauge cluster is from a TDI Eurovan from the UK and does read in MILES. The odometer on this cluster reads 312K miles and climbing. This is not what is actually on the van and engine/trans. Heat works. A/C works great even when >100. I had this fully serviced by V-dub folks in Irving.
The van doesn’t burn oil, doesn’t leak oil, does not use coolant. Oil changes have been done at regular intervals with synthetic oil. This van is in very good condition and is is clean inside aside from spilled coffee stains in front mats it was never smoked in. The underside shows no rust.
The body is in good condition with normal wear for its age. As a multivan it has the rear bench seat which folds down into a bed for the camping/traveling enthusiast. I had planned to add a rack and a rack mounted tent and awning. Wife has other ideas and want me to sell it.
Toyo tires with about 7,500 miles on them. And have plenty of tread. Prior to my purchase the van had new CV joints, recent rebuild of injectors and injection pump and converted to an all-mechanical injection; also known as the MTDI for $2400. It essentially makes your TDI engine run without the need of the ECU or inputs from sensors. You can read more about the MTDI conversion online. All of the parts and wiring are still in the van and uncut to allow you to return the van back to a stock TDI electronic/mechanical and can be sourced from a supplier or online Ebay UK. New head and head gasketTiming beltsWater pump New sending unit in tank.
Recently had transmission adjusted by V-dub folks and bushing replaced, fuel lines from pump replaced and a nee boost hose. It sounds like an F-250.
The van come with two huge and handy Bently service manuals and thousands of dollars in receipts and a log book with details of when items were changed and actual mileage of engine and trans.
Things to note: Please note the cruise control does not work as it is now mechanically controlled throttle, if you reinstall the original injection pump that is “fly by wire” you would get your cruise control back. The only issue is the abs light is on, I’m not sure why. I have never took it in to have it tested. This is truly a great running van that needs nothing and will serve you well for years to come and provide you with superior fuel economy of 20 to 35 mpg depending on how its driven. Shocks and timing belt were done about 10,000 miles ago. I have 2 key fobs. Power windows work. Interior light fuse goes out from time to time which I havent sorted yet. It has current Texas inspection good through December.
Im asking $12,000 for this unique van. Reasonable options will be considered. Van is a beast. Options to customize it are endless. Would be a good work van as seats can be removed and it is low and easy to load. I have put kayak and bikes and luggage inside with room to spare. It is a great recreational van.
