1980 Volvo 264 GLE with a 5.3 Liter Chevrolet V8 and T56 6-speed drive train conversion. The car started as an original 75,000 mile example with a PRV V6 and manual transmission. We then had the V8 and 6-speed installed and all other work performed professionally to make this car a reliable and fun daily driver. I have driven this car everyday for the last 3 years and it even comes with an additional set of Volvo wheels with snow tires.
Details of the work performed is as follows;
-2001 LM7 5.3L V-8 with modified factory GM wiring harness and computer, notched cross member, C5 Corvette engine mounts, Camaro intake manifold, Mast Motorsports oil pan
-2000 Camaro T-56 6-speed and transmission mount on custom built, bolt in cross member
-One piece drive shaft (originals were two piece)
-Custom hand built exhaust with Flowmaster 50 series muffler
-One off gearshift leaver to replicate and fit like original, but bolts to T56
-Custom gauge cluster with AutoMeter gauges
-Very minimal transmission tunnel modifications
-New clutch, master and slave cylinder
-Entire brake system new, including, all 4 calipers, rotors, soft lines and master cylinder
-New wheel bearings
-New heater core
-Upgraded C4 Corvette HD radiator with high performance electric fan
-The suspension and steering are stock and retain there factory geometry. One coil was cut out of the front springs and the car drives and tracks straight, handles well and rides nice
-Child seat anchors mounted
-Trunk mounted yellow top Optima battery

Overall this car is in great shape considering the age and a lifetime of all season driving. There is a small amount of rust starting to poke through, but nothing that can not be easily fixed (see pictures). I’ve driven this car everyday for 3 years and have put nearly 19,000 miles (30,000km) on it and wouldn’t hesitate driving it to Alaska or California.
