“1984 Porsche 944 – Original car with 67k actual miles 2.5L 4 cylinder w/5-speed manual transmission This Porsche starts up without issue, runs and drives excellent. The paint appears to be original, 1984 paint. It is still quite glossy, but has normal wear/shrinkage expected with the age of the paint and isn’t perfect. The only flaw beyond normal wear with the body is one small ding in the rear of the passenger front fender (see in pictures). The body is solid with absolutely no rust anywhere on the car.
The interior of the car is in great shape with the exception of the common dash cracking (see pictures), and a small tear on the drivers side seat. The rest of the interior is in very good condition considering the age. Mechanically the car is near perfect and it runs and shifts great. Power windows work, as well as the flip up headlights. The only 2 mechanical issues is that the sunroof doesn’t function and there is a vacuum leak somewhere in the brake booster (or booster line). The brakes themselves function great and have a lot of life left in them. The car can be driven around, but the vacuum leak makes the brake pedal require a little more pressure than normal. The only aftermarket accessories on the 944 is the radio, a MagnaFlow exhaust system, and the K&N air filter. Recent maintenance on the car (w/less than 5 miles) includes all new spark plugs, new air filter (K&N), a coolant flush (Pentosin Coolant added), fresh Mobil 1 engine oil w/genuine Porsche filter, Liqui-Moly transmission fluid, gas tank drained, and a new fuel filter.
The only reason I am selling the car is because I don’t have the time I thought I was going to have to make it ready for my summer car. With the above mentioned recent maintenance, the only thing the car needs from here to be completely summer ready is to fix the brake booster vacuum leak and the sunroof (if you care about that working). All of the tires have decent life left and the fuel tank has fresh, ethanol-free gasoline and is ready to go!
