$18,500 – Mound, MN:
“Yes, this really is a turbocharged LS1 powered Miata. The car is based on a 1995 Mazda Miata chassis and has running gear and other components from a number of other cars. Here are the basics:
– Engine: 2003 Corvette LS1
– Transmission: 2006 GTO T56
– Differential: Ford 8.8 from a 1992 thunderbird with limited slip
– Turbocharger: 66mm Turbonetics
– V8 Roadsters subframe/engine mount
– Front mount intercooler
– HKS wastegate
– Custom half-shafts (retained Miata IRS)
– 15×9 wheels with 225/45/15 BF Goodrich Rivals
– Custom digital readouts in center console for various engine data
– Open loop speed density control tuned with HP tuners
– Hard Dog roll bar
– Kirkey aluminum seat with 5pt harness (original seat included)
– Custom stainless exhaust manifolds
– 3.5” exhaust front to back
– Twin Walbro 255 fuel pumps
– Flyin’ Miata sway bars
– Coilover suspension
– Polyurethane bushings throughoutI have never dyno’d the car, so I can’t offer any definitive horsepower numbers. Theoretically, with the reasonable intake temperatures I see, it should produce around 500 hp at the crank at 7 psi where the boost controller is set. Yes, it could produce more power with the crank of a dial, but the car is a rocket at 7 psi and has been tremendously reliable.
The car was built predominantly between 2010 and 2013, and if you want an overwhelming amount of detail on the depth and quality of the build (ex: turbo compressor maps, intercooler pressure drop curves, wiring diagrams, etc.) you can read the entire build thread at this link:

There are really too many things to try to list in a Craigslist ad, but I would share any and all details and documentation with any serious buyers. This truly a one of a kind car, and has been tremendously reliable through many road trips and a number of track sessions at BIR. I really believe this to be one of the cleaner engine swap builds I have seen (yes, I am biased), and it shows very well in person.
I will have the car at the Minnetonka Drive In on July 25th from approximately 6:30-7:30 for the Thursday night car show if you are interested in taking a look at it.
