$28,000 – San Antonio, TX:

“This 1974 Mini Marcos is a factory-built, fiberglass-bodied Mini that is based on the classic Austin Mini Cooper and uses the same engine and subframes. It is a Marcos Mk4 model and is fitted with a high-performance 1275cc engine from Seven Enterprises, twin SU carbs, a 4-speed manual rod-shift transmission, Cooper S (7.5″) disc brakes, 10″x6″ Minilight-style (8 spoke) alloys with Yokohamo A008 tires, a front-mounted aluminum radiator and a full complement of gauges, and a rollbar/cage. It is said to be mechanically sound and well-sorted. Included in the sale is very extensive documentation of the restoration, including a large binder with photos, receipts and additional information on the marque, as well as Mini Marcos club newsletters.

( ALSO: classic Minis WANTED. Any condition, model or location nationwide )

Fewer than 5,000 miles have been logged since the full restoration/rebuild.

The steering is left-hand-drive (LHD).

You might say that the Mini Marcos fiberglass-bodied cars “share DNA” with the Mini Marcos race car that ran in the 1966 Le Mans 24 hour race, the same race that pitted the Ford GT40 against Ferrari. The Cooper S-engine-powered Marcos reportedly finished in 15th place overall – and was said to be the only British car that finished the race.

An extra pair of racing-style bucket seats are included in the sale.
