“I’ve decided to sell my extremely rare 1971 Toyota Crown Coupe MS75 Package. These are near impossible to find in the US and in original US-spec, not a Japanese import. They stopped importing them in 1972, and according to my research, only imported a total of around 200 between ‘71 and ‘72. It’s an MS75 car, meaning its powered by a 2.6 liter straight six 4M motor backed by a four-speed manual trans. Its an original CA car that was purchased from the original owner a couple years ago. I planned to do a full restoration, as this is one of my favorite vintage Toyotas, but priorities change.
The car does run and drive, is registered, and insured, but it has not been driven in quite a while and could probably use a gas tank flush and refresh. Everything is stock except for a fresh Weber carb, Momo steering wheel, and a new muffler. The original owner told me the motor had been replaced, but it was replaced with an exact period-correct 4M (early 4Ms offered in the Crown had square exhaust ports, which this has). It was repainted by the original owner but original paint is visible in trunk, interior, underhood, etc. I have all the original parts and extras and upgrades, including a rare dual-carb manifold with two original SU carbs (a performance option offered in Japan). Will come with two wheel sets (originals with original hub caps and the steelies shown in photos, have another set of rare JDM wheels available for the right price). The car has virtually zero rust. This is an awesome rare JDM classic and will be a showstopper when completed. I only ever took it to one Cars and Coffee event, and even in its unrestored state, it immediately drew a crowd. Asking $8,000 and am open to offers. The worst I can say is no. We can also work out a deal for some additional parts I have including super rare vintage 5-spoke SSR XR4 Longchamps (5-spoke, 5-lugs are near impossible to find).
