$7,500 – Sunnyvale, CA:

“I am selling my 1997 C36 AMG. I have had it since 1999 and it has and still is a pleasure to drive. This is a rare model, and an even rarer final year 1997 which has the 5 speed transmission and increased horsepower of 276 compared to the 1995 and 1996 versions that had 4 speed transmissions and 268HP. If memory serves, there were only 236 1997 C36’s imported to North America. I have attended various AMG Private Lounge events at Laguna Seca and it’s always the only C36 present.

I am only selling because I need a larger vehicle and unfortunately don’t have space to keep this garaged otherwise. It has always been garaged and I have maintained it per normal MB schedule.

I have performed the latest oil change (mobile 1 synthetic + MB oil filter) at the dealer on 2018-03-24.

I have replaced all four tires with new Falken Ziex RE950 (staggered 225/45/17 front, 245/40/17 rear) on 2018-03-31.

Modifications performed:

Interior:
– Full European 1997 C36 carbon fiber trim conversion
– Momo carbon fiber shift knob
– Aluminum gated shifter accent

Exterior:
– conversion to European 1997 C36 amber front corners and rear amber tail light assemblies
– European C36 Trunklid installed (accepts german license plate) – Original USA Trunklid can be included as well
– Authentic C32 AMG split spoke wheels installed due to better brake cooling and lighter weight
– Bekkers Avantgarde Grill
– w210 E-class side mirrors with functioning integrated turn signals
– European w210 side mirror glass with convex blindspot region
– debadged
– NO FRONT PLATE ever mounted. Front AMG bumper is clean from license plate mounts.

Audio:
– Alpine 9987 Head Unit installed
– Alpine 5 channel Amplifier installed
– All Bose speakers removed and Focal Polyglass component speakers installed front and rear
– JL Audio subwoofer in trunk
– Multi-channel equalizer installed in trunk for fine tuning
– Alpine Imprint Tuned for time correction

Performance:
– KMAC camber and caster kit installed front and rear
– Koni yellow adjustable shocks installed front and rear
– Eibach race lowering springs
– Weicherts (rare – Germany) rear strut bar installed in trunk

Regarding the suspension modifications, the car is very stiff.

I have been checking, but have not found any other 1997 C36 for sale in the country for the past year. It’s a very rare car. Last 1997 C36 I saw was sold at auction mid 2017 for $7500 which was not in as good shape as my car.

This said, the front bumper/hood paint has some rock chips from the 21 years of driving, but nothing insane.

No lowball offers. Serious inquiries only.
