$14,000 – Durango, CO:

“The time has come to sell my race car project. I’ve owned it for 3 years, and don’t give it the time it deserves. I’ve put a lot into this car, and hate to see it go… But my life priorities have changed. Have put under 1500 miles on it since I’ve owned it. It has lived most of it’s life in a garage or in a storage unit. I just pulled it out to sell it. Never been on a track, that was the dream and what I built it for. I pulled the interior, installed brakes, shocks, and new cooling system. From there it was built and tuned by Clockwork Calibrations in ABQ. I drove it from ABQ to Durango. I will update this post as I go. All parts installed >1000 miles ago. Car drives, shifts, brakes, and spools great.

THE CAR:

Malaga Red
Turbo Front Lip
15″ BBS Wheels with matching spare
Turbo Rear Bumper
Sunroof

THE DRIVETRAIN/ENGINE:

5 speed manual swap
Ireland Engineering Shifter Kit
New driveshaft guibo and transmission mounts
MACHINED/PORTED head with MLS head gasket installed
Ireland Valve Locks
Ireland Aluminum Radiator with new hoses, water pump, thermostat, and electric fan
Stock Block
BMW 318i intake manifold
T3 turbo (ebay, no shaft play, was meant to be temporary) running 11 psi boost, has 2.5″ v band going to downpipe
Front Mount Intercooler with 2.5″ piping
CX Racing turbo exhaust manifold
2.5” exhaust from turbo back, sounds great
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Custom oil catch can/coolant overflow
MSD Spark Control
Megasquirt gets its spark reading from the distributor, better than using a crank wheel
Ireland Engineering Oil Cooler

INTERIOR:

Sparco Sprint Seats
G Force Racing Harnesses
Roll Cage from B pillar back
Battery relocated to rear with front/rear strut brace
Megasquirt V2 tuner
Ballenger Motorsports AFR
Boost gauge
Head unit
Aftermarket Steering Wheel
Original Shift Knob
Surge Tank with in tank fuel pump in trunk
Stock 318i pump used as lifter pump to surge tank

BRAKES/SUSPENSION:

Ireland Engineering Wilwood big brake kit with new lines and hoses… Stops so fast it affects the rotation of the earth
Stock emergency brake still functional
Ground Control Coilover Kit (Eibach 350# front and 400# rear springs, Koni adjustable dampers, new shock housings)
Ireland Engineering front and rear swaybars with endlinks
Welded Rear Differential
New wheel bearings up front for the brake conversion

THE BAD:

Some rust spots on hood, and above right tail light
Previous owner bondo on driver’s door near handle
Small crack in front lip
When I pulled the carpet it had holes in the footwells (flint-stones style) so we welded new pieces of steel in
Sunroof does not work
Very slow drip at rear differential
ODO does not work, says 65,846

About 3 months ago the pin fell out of the shifter as I was driving, got flung up by driveshaft, and put a small hole in the tail housing of the trans as it ricocheted off. Transmission shifts fine, it has new fluid, but leaks fluid once it is warmed up. The price on this car has been adjusted according to this problem. I am in the process of trying to fix it. It either needs to be welded, jb welded, or needs the tail housing replaced. My loss is your gain at this point.

All in all this is a rad car, and was once my dream to restore and own. No matter how you drive it, people get stoked when they see it. Would turn heads at any track it goes to, and is a 43 year old car that can easily get up to 130 mph.

NO TRADES
