$8,500 – Pueblo, CO:
“1988 XR4Ti race car. Car is purpose built for autocross racing, partial tube frame, very little of the original unibody remains. Cage that is now the main structure of the car was professionally built. The car made 331 rwhp on a mustang dyno from the 2.3L on 22 pounds of boost. All suspension has been modified from the original car, as the original cars didn’t take well to being lowered for racing. Suspension is completely adjustable, thus making the car more customizable for the driver and the track. Wilwood front brakes, rear disc brake conversion, brake bias controller, custom 16” wheels. Fuel Safe fuel cell, fire suppression system, cool shirt setup, SDS fuel management… The list goes on and on. The car was built to race, more than $30k was spent (I have receipts) getting it to where it is, $9k is a steal. Car is not set up to be a daily driver, it has a tilton race clutch and flywheel but I have a different clutch and flywheel for the T-5 if you’re interested. The car currently runs on pump gas and could very easily make more power on race gas or e85; but at less than 2,300 pounds it’s already fast enough. Perfect for hillclimbs and track days, you’d never build one for anywhere close to $9k.
