$1,200 – Richardson, TX:
“The Reatta was a low volume specialty car produced by Buick from 1988 till 1991 and just 21,751 were produced. The cars featured the tried and true 3.8L V6 and sat on the front wheel drive GM E platform. The cars produced around 170hp and had a top speed electronically limited to 125mph. Four wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, and ABS were all standard. The car was a halo for the Buick brand and they were hand made by craftsmen in a special production facility in Michigan.
Our Maui Blue example sports a blue interior and is in good overall condition, as the pictures will show. There is no serious body damage, or any missing parts. The vehicle has been sitting for several years and unfortunately, it shows. It did just receive a new fuel pump and fresh oil and filter, so it’s been started and runs well.
The good:
– Everything appears to be there. Inside, outside, the vehicle is complete and does not appear to have been abused. There is even a full set of keys, including remote and an owner’s manual.
– The body is straight. No rust, no major damage. There may be a few small dings here and there, but overall it’s good.
– Starts, runs, and drives well.
– The digital dash works. All of it, no dead spots that I have found.
– The leather looks good. No tears, it’s in pretty decent shape.
– Power windows work, although they’re not fast. Power locks function as well.
The bad:
– Needs some brake work. Not sure what it needs, but it doesn’t brake well. You’ll need to tow it out.
– A/C doesn’t blow cold. The head unit works, blower motor spins, but it doesn’t engage the compressor.
– The radio powers up but nothing seems to work. It doesn’t change stations and I’m not getting any sound.
– Valve covers appear to be leaking oil.
The unknown:
It sat for at least a year, perhaps more, before the fuel pump was replaced and the oil was changed. We haven’t dug too deeply into it, so the overall condition isn’t completely known. It shows 7,173 miles, but true mileage isn’t known. It may have rolled over – we don’t know.Overall, this is a future collectible that has great potential. The hard parts are taken care of – good body, good engine – it just needs details and a little TLC. Give us a call or email. Thank you for looking!
