$2,000 – Indianapolis, IN:
“1988 Merkur XR4ti -a true stock survivor
Purchased in 2016 January with 130K from prior owner car enthusiast who purchased it in 1997.
AT; 143K; engine rebuilt 110K; cold A/C with new components; excellent leather interior; tinted windows; custom dual exhaust (split at rear axle); above average paint; no rust; no fluid leaks; new tires; stock stereo with recent new speakers; gauges work; car comes with two XR4ti ball caps; history of ownership to original owner
If I haven’t disclosed it in the list below, assume it works. This car will not disappoint. I have another Merkur and need the space this one is taking.
Disclosures:
The starter turns but won’t start approximately twenty minutes after being driven and shut off. Wait it out and it starts again just fine. The heater core has been bypassed. It works fine but the lower inlet has deteriorated so as not to support a hose and clamp. The exhaust is less than two years old but has a rattle. The left turn signal needs to be manually returned after use. The tires are new with suspect balancing job and there is vibration at 30-45 mph and sporadically when braking. Since the inner fender liners are deteriorated, the air filter box is rotated into the engine bay so as to avoid ingesting water during heavy rain. The CC ‘catches’ at a lower mph than set.
Additional parts available for purchase to buyer:
5th stock wheel; Euro steering wheel; steering wheel hub extension; louvered hood painted and ready to swap; bi-wing hatch complete; front end cover (LeBra); set of new brake pads; memorabilia literature; large inventory of miscellaneous parts from JY cars before the crusher
