$4,000 – Cincinnati, OH:
“Runs and drives like a 1983 DSC, which is good but not strong = 107 HP. New clutch. New steering rack. All elements of AC system replaced, but after the winter storage now doesn’t cool (likely an o-ring leak). Interior nice, but shows signs of wear. Exterior once repainted, overall good (no fading), but prep work prior to painting wan’t by a perfectionist – shows signs of wear. Newer tires. Cat-back with cherry bomb. Now catalytic converter inside material breaking down, which you can hear rattle at idle. Roller cam and new lifters added 5K ago, my friend that did the work stated the engine was too clean to be 150,000, so I believe mileage is correct. Carb can be finicky at times, especially when cold, but it doesn’t stop running once warm. You just have to love these to own one (and I do love it, because it is like my 1st car) while enjoying tinkering around … because at age 36 it often needs little fixes. Not a perfect example, but it is a fun cruiser that is different and you rarely see another one. Just ready to drive something else. Great for a 50-something year old that had or always wanted one of these back in the day, someone like me that wants to revisit their past, or an up-and-coming car tech that wants to have some fun.
