“This 1973 BMW 3.0CS has just over 47k miles and is a superb matching number, rust free original example. It was purchased new in February 1973 in Woodside NY. The car remained in Virginia until 1995 when it was sold to a car collector in Texas. I purchased the car locally from another BMW collector. The car has been a dependable weekend driver and occasional show car. Original options include power sunroof, power windows, electric antenna, leather seats and air conditioning.
The car was repainted it original color in 2010 and is flawless condition. It currently has 14 inch BBS gold alloy wheels and sold with an un-restored set of original alloy wheels and chrome center caps. The service records date back to new.
The interior has its original finishes apart from new carpets and coco mats. The factory red leather shows no wear except on one small crack on the driver seat. All equipment is operational with the exception of the clock. The interior is in beautiful original condition and it has an Alpine CD player in the dash with changer in the trunk. The car currently has a Nardi wood steering wheel and the original black steering wheel is also included with the purchase.
The car has its original 3.0-liter inline-six and is mated to the original 4 speed manual transmission. The air conditioning works well and has been converted to R134. Many other maintenance upgrades over the years including fuses, clutch, brakes, Weber carburetors, etc. It has been serviced locally by M Service in Walnut Creek and is “one of the finest examples they have seen”.
The trunk flooring panels and lid liner are present, the tool kit is complete including the spare tire and jack. The original purchase documentation is included, as well as service records, sales brochures and marketing material.
I regret having to sell the car but I need to downsize my collection. I am advertising it locally for a short time before opening it to other areas.
