$8,500 – Charlottesville, VA:
“This truck is so rare it’s a good bet you’ve never heard of it or seen one in person. The Stout was a durable pickup series built by Toyota starting in 1954. The second generation Stouts were sold in North America starting in 1964 and in 1969 they changed the name to the HiLux.
This particular Stout 1900 has 47,000 original miles and spent almost all of its life in warmer/dry climates (California-Arizona) before coming east a few years ago. The original 4-speed column shift manual and 1.9 litre 4-cylinder engine were replaced a few years back with a rebuilt Toyota 18R engine and mated 4 speed floor shifting transmission from a 1972 Toyota Hilux. It runs and drives great. Lots of recent work (brakes, tune-up, fuel pump, clutch etc) makes it a well sorted truck mechanically.
The exterior has been repainted once, many years ago and now has wonderful patina. The interior was restored in the past year (new carpet, new seats, new door panels, new headliner and new seat belts).
Pretty firm on my asking price of $8,500 but open to serious/reasonable offers to insure it goes to a good home. Collector owned and garaged. Possibly open to trades (vintage/pre-1980: Volvo, Saab, VW etc). Emails with a name and phone number get a response- all others ignored
