“This is a rare opportunity to chose between 2 real classic Studebaker Champions. It seems that most other old cars are turned into street rods which is a shame. The black 1950 Bullet-nose is an amazing car with only a tiny bit of surface rust underneath. It has the “Hill Holder” option. When you are trying to take off on a hill as long as you have the clutch pressed in it won’t roll backwards. Studebaker was the first car to offer this. I think every standard should have it. It would be easy for someone to learn standard with this car. Three on the tree is already much easier. It doesn’t die as easily as a 5 speed when you are taking off in first. It has overdrive too. When you are going over 40 you let your foot off of the gas and it activates it. It was way ahead of it time. Compare it to the rather ordinary Chevys and Plymouths from that time. The motor is smooth and quiet. It handles real nice. It don’t think it needs any mechanical work in order to keep driving it . It’s not perfect of course but it’s like you got a ride in Marty McFly’s Delorean back to 1955 and bought a nice used car. It was repainted the original black and the seats and floor coverings redone in the original style. The rest of the car including the glass and chrome is very nice original unrestored. The car came out of Kansas which has a dry climate. Mechanically needed repairs were done as needed. I have driven it 450 miles in the last ten days so yes you can use it as a daily driver. It always starts up and hasn’t given me any trouble. It is $9500 firm . Most similar cars are $15000. I didn’t want to haggle. If you don’t have that much then check out my ’48 2 door. It is in good shape just isn’t as nice as the 1950. It’s just like the 1947 which was the first American car with flush front fenders instead of the old style fat fenders that stuck out past the body. That allowed more interior room . A prior owner told me that it was an old u.s.m.c staff officer’s car. I don’t have a way to verify its history. Maybe it went to Korea? I want $5000 for. I priced it way below what I see similar cars listed for.Both are good running classics with stock running gear and 6-volt original charging systems. Both have good batteries , mechanical fuel pumps that are easy to get to on the side of the motor and the correct one barrel carburetor. The headlights , turn signals brake lights , tail lights and back-up lights work in both of them. They both have 3 Speed column manual “3 on the tree” shift with overdive. They both have the correct flathead 6 170 cubic inch motor. brakes and clutches work good in both.
The dash gauges gas, temp amp meter, oil pressure speedometer and odometer work in both.
All of the doors, windows and door vents work in both of them. They both have vents in the lower part of the fenders . Those are great for air flow around your legs.
I have a clear titles in my name to both of them. Very fun to drive cars. Parts are easily found either by ordering from local parts store or from several companies that specializes in Studebakers.Nice size classic. Not too big like many 1940s-1950s American cars. The vent windows open up at an angle so that when u have the windows down its all open.
